East Feliciana Rural Water System, Inc.

October 1, 2016
While there is no indication of lead or copper in EFRW's system, as a part of DHH's mandatory routine sampling, EFRW is periodically required to conduct Lead and Copper Testing throughout the water system.  With the breakdown of EFRW into six PWS#, comes increased sampling and monitoring.  EFRW is now required to sample twenty (20) residences within each system.  Water samples must be taken from inside the home, so EFRW will need our members to participate in this testing process.  DHH sets testing criteria for homes constructed between 1982 and 1988 that have copper pipe or lead pipe in thier plumbing system.  If you home meets these criteria and you are willing to participate, please contact EFRW at 225-683-9698 or email melissa@eastfelicianaruralwater.com. The Board of Directors is considering an incentive for all customers volunteering to participate.  For more information on the Lead and Copper Rule, you may go to https://www.epa.gov/dwreginfo/lead-and-copper-rule.
