Contract #1 - Phase 1 Line Improvements

Update as of December 11, 2019

As of today, Greenbrier is almost complete with the laying of approximately 4 miles of 8" water main in the Sam-Talbert Road area.  Crews are currently performing directional boring in order to make some tie ins.  EFRW residences did experience some extremely brown water issues the past several days.  This issue affected a portion of EFRW's service area that we had not foreseen any impact from the on going construction.  This incident was due to the use of a fire hydrant at the end of Senat Lane.  The contractor has been instructed to utilize a fire hydrant in another location to lessen the impact on our neighborhoods.  EFRW apologizes to those that were caught off guard and inconvenienced.  A portion of the system upgrade includes flush valves.  Once these valve are installed EFRW will be able to clean out lines and initiate a maintenance flushing program.

After the first of the year, some areas  will be contacted regarding scheduled outages as EFRW isolates the system in order to install valves on existing water mains.  More information will be provided at that time.
